Bought 200 shares of Western Digital for $11.97 today because it hit a one year high. I figure I'm getting killed chasing losers, why not put a modest bet on a winner? I've owned WDC a couple of times in the past. I remember buying it around $3.50 and selling it around $5.25, and being inordinately pleased with myself. I think it was the first individual stock I ever owned. A year or so later it was around $13, and I don't think it's ever fallen under $7 since, so my instinct was great and my sell timing was awful.

Strong jobs report today, up over a quarter million, bodes well for the indexes and poorly for my uninvested cash. If I can get back into CRNT this morning for cheaper than I sold it yesterday, I'll be tempted. On the other hand, with oil approaching a record high again and plenty of talk about it staying there, we might have one of those Friday's where the markets just droop away after lunch. The premarket bid on my two remaining stocks, AMD and MU was higher than the close, should have sold the MU, as it tanked on a ratings cut, and is rapidly becoming my worst performer, put me all the way behind the QQQQ today. Tough being a tech stock investor when tech funds have seen 13 straight weeks of outflows, enough to depress prices in any market. I just realized that I'm down over 5% on MU, so I should have sold out at $10.94! Now I'll have to decide whether to sell out first thing Monday, or wait and see if it climbs over the barrier on the day. After holding it for a $390 loss, I'd hate to have none when they finally announce the quarter.
